Sociologist
Field surveys, interviews in small groups, surveys of consumers to test a new product … the sociologist studies all types of phenomena or social behavior. Among his many subjects of study: family, education, work, politics, urban violence … To achieve his ends, this scientist applies a precise method. After defining the subject of the study, he designs surveys and questionnaires in order to collect as much information as possible. He goes to the neighborhoods, meets people to find out about their daily lifestyles, their tastes … He then processes this data electronically, analyzes them, then presents the results in the form of diagrams, statistical tables, written or oral summaries The sociologist can work in the public sector (teaching, research, administration), the private sector (company, consulting firm), or even in the liberal sector.
