Medical Pathologist

Person who, as a medical specialist, performs a microscopic examination of human tissue taken during a surgical intervention or an autopsy for the purpose of diagnosis, medical research or police investigation. To this end, she observes, analyzes and examines the preparation of tissues obtained using different techniques. She determines the nature and extent of the disease, the causes of infection and the severity of tumors. In autopsy cases, she performs the necessary examinations to determine the probable cause of death. She also participates in the day-to-day management of her laboratory.
