Person who checks that logging companies comply with government standards for the rational management of forest resources. To do this, it calculates, for a given volume of felled trees, the yield of merchantable timber obtained after sawing as well as the losses attributable to defects in the timber. She also takes care of classifying the lumber cut according to species, dimensions and intended use, stacking it and transporting it to the drying areas. She must also carefully keep performance records and report any breaches of established standards to authorities.
