Editorialist

The columnist, formerly called the ticket writer, is the person who writes the editorial for a print newspaper (daily, magazine or review), or [ref. desired] who expresses a [unclear] comment in a broadcast or television newspaper. The columnist is usually a journalist on the editorial staff who is responsible for expressing his position. She can also be an external personality chosen for his analytical skills (academic, writer, political analyst, etc.). Her role is to clarify or put into perspective a current event or a trend, even to reflect the orientation (possibly the political color) of the newspaper. They can adopt a personal tone and be critical, unlike other writers who must apply the principles of neutrality and objectivity.
