Hydrologist

Person who carries out research on the properties of water (rivers, oceans, groundwater), on their distribution, circulation and use by humans. She is particularly interested in the formation, distribution and arrangement of watercourses, the intensity of precipitation and the impact of climate change on the hydrological cycle. She may be required to participate in the design of facilities (dams, dikes, storm sewers, etc.) intended to control the flow and level of watercourses and bank erosion as well as the flow of water from rain in the event of flooding. It can also collaborate in the establishment of methods of combating water pollution.
