The marketing director is, in a company, the member of the management that is in charge of marketing and marketing, he usually reports directly to the CEO, and is the equivalent of a HR Director or CFO in their respective fields. His primary responsibility is the widespread application of the marketing methodology within the company and providing the information needed to do so. With primary or shared responsibility in areas such as sales management, product development, distribution channel management, corporate communication, pricing, market research, and customer service, marketing managers are faced with a wide range of specialist disciplines in which they are needed to be well informed.
