Person who, in an industrial or commercial enterprise, performs functions relating to the marketing of products or services. She participates in market studies which enable her to gather information on the competition or on consumers (tastes, needs, consumption habits, etc.) and to develop suitable products or services. She can coordinate the application of marketing strategies (television advertising campaign, direct marketing by telephone or mail, participation in a trade show, setting up a team of sales representatives, etc.) with a view to publicize products or services and stimulate their wind; she may personally take care of selling or buying products or services on behalf of the business; finally, she can also be a sales representative (promotion, customer prospecting, contract negotiation, after-sales services).
