Person who, in order to enable hearing-impaired people to understand the content of certain speeches or conversations, transmits the words exchanged by means of a gestural or oral interpretation. Her main tasks are to find satisfactory conditions of hearing, visibility and comfort and to deliver the message accurately, without intervening or attempting to influence or making any personal comments. She can perform in court, on television, during artistic presentations, etc. She must act with discretion and respect the rules of the code of ethics for interpreters in visual language.
