Speech Therapist

Person who, as a health specialist, is involved in the screening, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of speech, voice, language and communication disorders. Using tests, examinations and observations, she assesses the nature, extent and severity of the disorders (articulation defect, vocal disorder, dyslexia, aphasia, cognitive-linguistic disorder, stuttering, etc. ), identifies the responsible factors (physiological, neurological, affective, family, social, etc.), then designs and applies an intervention plan. It offers support to relatives of patients, informs them of the treatment, solicits their collaboration in maintaining or improving the communication skills of patients and promoting their social, educational or professional integration.
