Blind and Visually Impaired (TVI program) - Dominican College

Person who, in accordance with the programs of the Ministry of Education, teaches basic subjects to pupils with visual impairments at preschool, primary and secondary levels, seeking to promote the development of their intellectual and social capacities and their overall autonomy. She prepares and leads various learning activities (music, manual work, crafts, outings, etc.), according to the needs of her students and with the help of adapted school materials. She takes care to encourage discussions between the pupils, to arouse their curiosity and to stimulate their interest. She teaches, among other things, the braille system as well as the manipulation and exploration of maps, graphs and relief tables. She is also responsible for evaluating student progress, following up with various stakeholders and parents, and participating in case study and educational consultation committees.
