Tourist Information Officer

Person whose function is to welcome, guide, inform and advise visitors on the services, activities, attractions and tourist sites of a locality or region and to answer their questions. She usually works from a tourist information booth or office located in a regional tourist information center, an airport, a hotel or a tourist agency. She is thoroughly familiar with the region, the recreational, sporting and cultural activities programs offered there, as well as the road geography of the area. She can make hotel and automobile reservations and sell certain promotional or information items, various packages, travel insurance and travelers checks.
